The visit of the British rigid airship R100 was one of the greatest aeronautical events that took place in Canada during the interwar period. Some sections of the fabric outer cover of the airship had to be replaced during the stay at St. Hubert airport as a result of damage suffered during the transatlantic flight from the United Kingdom. The pieces of fabric that fell to the ground proved irresistible to the visitors that flocked to the airport. According to numerous evaluations of the fabric sample, the red tinge on the underside is unique to the airship's outer fabric. The larger piece of fabric offered to the corporation is stamped and signed by the aircrew and the engineers that worked on the R100 airship. According to an evaluator, there may be at least one signature of an individual that survived the later R101 accident. - Function
