- CAST IRON BASE, FIELD RING & BEARING BLOCKS. LAMINATED STEEL POLE PIECES. STEEL SHAFT SUPPORTS A LAMINATED STEEL ARMATURE, COPPER COMMUTATOR WITH MICA INSULATION. FIELD COILS AND ARMATURE ARE WOUND WITH INSULATED COPPER WIRE. STEEL BRUSH HOLDERS ARE MOUNTED ON STEEL SHAFTS, ATTACHED TO A CAST IRON SPIDER. BRUSHES ARE CARBON WITH BRASS SPRINGS. BRONZE BEARINGS. CAST IRON PULLEY.

U.S.A./ NP 9275 ". " D-4 " handpainted in yellow on field ring, to right of plate. All 4 field coils bear identical stamped, numbered plates marked " 350035-2 ". [NB: These plates appear to have originally been secured beneath wrapping.]
