Markings: Fragment of label on cup front bears text [most of which is illegible]; reads "[illegible] TON/ [QU]assia [illegible]/ ...[illegible] the Stomach.../ ... giving the Appetite.../ [illegible]/ SOLD BY/ ...LYMAN & CO./ Place d' Armes/ MONTREAL". Round paper decal received with cup reads "S.J. STEVENSON/ CHEMIST/ OTTAWA". [NB: Decal stored in Supp. Info. file 2002.0682]. UHN catalogue no. "X934.22.1" printed by hand in white ink on underside of cup base.
Missing: Cup mouth and base are chipped: fragments are missing. Portions of label on cup front are also missing.
Finish: Light brown quassia wood cup has string decoration; black [coated?] paper label on cup front.
