The Gurney Gas Stove was purchased in the 1940s and used by the Chauvin family of Montreal into the 21st century in the kitchen of their cottage at Lake Hughes, Gore Township, Quebec. This propane-fired stove was used for cooking in the summer months, when it was too hot to use the Findlay wood-fired cook stove, as well as in late fall and early spring during ski season in the Laurentian Mountains. In 2012, after more than 50 years of use, the Gurney stove, still in perfect operating condition, and the Findlay stove were replaced by a modern electric LG range. - Function
