S. Donald Stookey is the scientist responsible for accidentally discovering ceramic glass during his research on glass in 1952. Glass that was heated until it became a ceramic was more resistant to thermal choc and could be used for an extensive amount of purposes. It is out of this material that Corning Ware bas born and introduced onto the American markets in 1958 by Corning Glass Works. The company would go on to create a wide array of glass ceramic cooking accessories until it ceased its operations in the year 2000. S.
