HIS PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTS & NEGATIVES, AND PERSONAL PAPERS ARE IN THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF CANADA.
Function: To contain and protect box contents when not in use. NB: This camera box used to store a wet suit hood.
Technical: This camera box was "recycled" for use as a storage container for a prop used in the 1972 portrait of Jacques Cousteau.

Markings: "DiVERS HEAD/ WET SUiT" printed by hand in black ink on one end panel of box. Original printed text on box lid reads "POLAROID/ 4X5 Land Film Holder #545" [top and one end panel]; "For cameras/ with/ 4 x 5 backs" [long sides]; and "A PRODUCT OF POLAROID CORPORATION, CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS 02139", " ["]Polaroid" ®", and "Made in U.S.A." on end panel. "NEW ROLL/ 8.2 8.1" printed by hand in red ink on box top; text printed by hand in black lead pencil below is largely illegible/obscured.

Finish: Paper box lid has off-white coated paper covering on exterior; white interior; white, black and orange printed text, and black lead pencil and red and black handwritten markings on lid exterior.
