Canada: A product of H.A. Lozier and Co. Ltd., of Toronto Junction; Lozier was an American firm which opened a branch plant in Canada in 1895 to produce its Cleveland bicycle and avoiding high Canadian tariffs. In the late 1890's, Lozier was probably second only to Massey-Harris as the leading producer of bicycles in Canada. Lozier was one of the five leading Canadian bicycle manufacturers which merged in 1899 to form the Canada Cycle and Motor Co. Ltd. The other companies imcluded Massey-Harris Manufacturing Co. Ltd. of Toronto, Gendron Manufacturing Co. Ltd. of Toronto, Welland Vale of St. Catherines and Goold Bicycle Co. Ltd. of Brantford. After Lozier was bought by CCM, models built under the new parent company usually carry a CCM mark. This bicycle does not, suggesting that it was made just before the formation of CCM or very earlyin the company's life

Missing: one of two rubber pieces on sinister pedal
