This jacket belonged to the donor when he was working at E.B Eddy paper mill. For almost a century, the lumber, pulp and paper industry was the largest industry in Canada, accounting for more than half of all Canadian exports. For most of that period, the Ottawa Valley was the most productive region. The E.B Eddy Co. was the original pioneer in the business, showing the way to other firms located in Ottawa and Gatineau. By 1901, E.B Eddy leads all of Canada in the number of paper machines. The E.B Eddy Company was bought in 1996 by Domtar and in 2006, it ceased its operations in the Ottawa-Gatineau mills. The jacket in question was ordered and purchased by the employees of the Mechanical Maintenance Department in the Hull Lower Mill (Tissue - E.B Eddy) in the fall of 1978. The jacket itself does not hold much technical significance. Its importance lies in the fact that the jacket belonged to an employee first-hand of the local and very successful lumber, pulp and paper company E.B Eddy. Finish

Black jacket with exterior made from 100% nylon. The red inside lining of the coat is made 100% from nylon and the interlining is made 100% from polyester. The jacket has six yellow clip buttons. The front of the jacket has a pocket on each side, with yellow and white line design. Each shoulder also has the same yellow and white pattern design. The jacket has a large yellow textured patch on its proper left side with black and white writing. The proper left arm of the jacket has a small yellow textured patch with black writing. Each sleeve has a yellow bouton to tighten the cuff. Veston noir avec l'extérieur fabriqué 100% de nylon. La doublure rouge à l'intérieur du veston est fabriqué 100% de nylon et la doublure intermédiaire est fabriqué 100% de polyester. Le veston à six boutons jaunes. Le devant du veston a une poche sur chaque côté avec un patron d'une ligne jaune et une ligne blanche. Chaque épaule à le même patron jaune et blanc. Le devant du veston a une large pièce texturée jaune sur le côté gauche avec de l'écriture noire et blanc. Le bras gauche du veston a aussi une pièce texturé avec de l'écriture noire. Chaque manche à un bouton jaune pour serrer les manchettes.
