This fibre optic amplifier was developed by Nortel Networks (formerly Northern Telecom) in Ottawa, Ontario. Nortel Networks was one of the most important manufacturers of telecommunications equipment in the world during the 1990s and early 2000s. Finish

A flat rectangular object that is made of grey synthetic material. One end of the object is rounded and shows a grey sticker on one side with blue writing to note the manufacturer. It has a metal sleeve that covers two thirds of its body on both its front and back. The metal sleeve has a white and yellow sticker on its front with black, blue and purple writing. The back of the metal sleeve also has a white sticker that contains black lettering only. The flat side of the object has two columns of holes that run vertically down the side of the artifact. Un objet rectangulaire qui est plat et faite avec un matériel synthétique de couleur grise. Un côté de l'objet est arrondi et a un autocollant gris avec du lettrage bleue pour noter le nom du manufacturier. L'artefact a aussi une manche en métal qui recouvre deux tiers de son corps sur le devant et à l'arrière. La manche en métal a un autocollant blanc sur les deux côtés. L'autocollant sur un bord à un lettrage noir, bleu et mauve avec un arrière-plan jaune. L'autocollant à l'arrière à un lettrage noir et n'a pas d'arrière-plan. Le côté plat de l'objet a deux colonnes de trous qui voyagent verticalement le long du côté plat de l'artefact.
