DESIGNED & BUILT IN CANADA. IN 1924 EDWARD SAMUELS ROGERS OBTAINED THE CANADIAN PATENT RIGHTS TO THE ACTUBE INVENTED BY F.S. MCCULLOUGH. HE PERFECTED THE TUBE & ESTABLISHED THE STANDARD RADIO MFG. CORP. IN 1925 TO MANUFACTURE A RADIO SET USING HIS AC TUBES IN TORONTO (REF.1).

DESIGNED TO USE THE NEW AC TUBES FOR FILAMENTS BUT STILL REQUIRED 'B' BATTERIES. THE BATTERY ELIMINATOR (.2) WAS USED TO POWER THE RECEIVER, COMBINING IN ONE UNIT THE FUNCTION OF 'B' BATTERIES AND HEATER SUPPLY (REF.4).
