This camera was given to the donor by his wife as a gift for their 25th wedding anniversary on August 31, 1999. This camera was used extensively by the donor on both personal and business-related occasions. Over the course of the next five years, the camera was used at mining trade shows and conferences in Toronto and Quebec City, as well as Acapulco, Cape town, Johannesburg, Santiago, Santo Domingo, and Belo Horizonte. Throughout this time, it was also used for a great deal of personal photography at the Club de Yachting Portage Champlain in Hull. It was also used for vacations to France, Cuba, and Jamaica, and to take photographs and video at the wedding of the owner’s son. Function

This digital camera was used for capturing both still images as well as short videos and recording the digital information on 3.5 Inch diskettes. Cette caméra numérique était utilisée pour capturer des images fixe ainsi que des vidéos courtes et les enregistrais sur des disquettes de 3.5 pouces.

Technical

The Mavica (Magnetic Video Camera) FD83 was released by Sony in 1999. The MVC-FD83 records both still images in jpeg format and video files in mpeg format onto 3.5’’ floppy diskettes with the help of its own rechargeable lithium ion battery. Its equipped lens had the ability to zoom up to 6x and it boasted a shutter speed of 1/4000 of a second. The MVC-FD83 has a 2.5” LCD on the back of the camera for focusing and for viewing photographs. This camera has a resolution of 0.85 megapixels, but can achieve a resolution of over 1 Mp. Images may be recorded in one of two image quality modes: standard, to give a standard image quality; and fine. Still images of can be taken in one of three recording modes as either normal mode, voice mode, or email mode. Floppy diskettes could record 25-50 images of lower quality or 2-5 higher quality images taken by the Mavica. Finish

A camera made of silver synthetic material that has a grey synthetic base. A black synthetic lens cap covers a metal lens on its proper left side. A blue strap has white lettering on it to not the manufacturer. The back of the camera has white lettering above all of its buttons as well as a synthetic screen. The proper right side of the camera has a slot for a floppy disk. Une caméra faite avec du matériel synthétique de couleur argent qui a une base synthétique grise.
