This camera was given to the donor by his wife as a gift for their 25th wedding anniversary on August 31, 1999. This camera was used extensively by the donor on both personal and business-related occasions. Over the course of the next five years, the camera was used at mining trade shows and conferences in Toronto and Quebec City, as well as Acapulco, Cape town, Johannesburg, Santiago, Santo Domingo, and Belo Horizonte. Throughout this time, it was also used for a great deal of personal photography at the Club de Yachting Portage Champlain in Hull. It was also used for vacations to France, Cuba, and Jamaica, and to take photographs and video at the wedding of the owner’s son. La caméra était un cadeau pour le 25ie anniversaire de mariage du donateur le 31 aout, 1999. La caméra était utilisée personnellement ainsi que pour des occasions incluant des relations d'affaires. La caméra a vu de l'action à des conférences de minage et des foires commerciales à Toronto, la ville de Québec, Acapulco, Le Cap, Johannesburg, Santiago, Santo Domingo et Belo Horizonte. Pendant ce temps-là il a aussi été utiliser pour de la photographie personnelle au Club de Yachting Portage Champlain à Hull. La caméra a aussi été apportée pour enregistrer pendant des vacances en France, Cuba, en Jamaïque et aussi pour enregistrer des vidéos et prendre des images fixe de leur fils à son mariage.

Function

This storage bag holds the conversion lens and both its front and rear caps for the Mavica FD83 camera. It facilitated the transportation of the lens and also provided protection for it while it was being transported. Technical

The Mavica (Magnetic Video Camera) FD83 was released by Sony in 1999. The MVC-FD83 records both still images in jpeg format and video files in mpeg format onto 3.5’’ floppy diskettes with the help of its own rechargeable lithium ion battery. Its equipped lens had the ability to zoom up to 6x and it boasted a shutter speed of 1/4000 of a second. The MVC-FD83 has a 2.5” LCD on the back of the camera for focusing and for viewing photographs. This camera has a resolution of 0.85 megapixels, but can achieve a resolution of over 1 Mp. Images may be recorded in one of two image quality modes: standard, to give a standard image quality; and fine. Still images of can be taken in one of three recording modes as either normal mode, voice mode, or email mode. Floppy diskettes could record 25-50 images of lower quality or 2-5 higher quality images taken by the Mavica. A black coloured bag made of leatherette with the manufacturer’s name etched on the front of the bag. A polyester drawstring is visible extending through two holes in each of the bags four sides. The drawstring is knotted at both the front and the back of the bag. Un sac de rangement noir qui est fait avec du matériel en simili cuir qui a le nom du manufacturier gravé sur le devant du sac. Il y a un cordonnet en polyester qui ressort de deux trous de chacun des quatre côtés du sac. Le cordonnet des noueux sur le devant et à l'arrière du sac.
